  11. From the other posts in here, I would gather that this is not the
  12. normal case. I have a Sportster Vi 28.8 external with the v.34 and I
  13. just bought a Sportster 28.8 external with the v.34+ .

  15. I am running Win95 and I selected USR 28.8 external for the modem in
  16. the configuration. I am using the settings that the modems come with
  17. and whatever Win95 assigns.

  19. Here is how I tested this. I dial up using one of the modems. I do
  20. this several times with that modem. Them I unplug it and hook up the
  21. other on and dial up a few times with it. No changes, just hooking up
  22. wiht the exact same wires and cable.

  24. My question is this:

  26.      Why does my Vi connect at 28.8 most of the time, while the
  27.  
  28.      fastest connection that the 33.6 can connect at is only 26.4?

  30. Any help or comments welcome.
